Ask any school kid what their favorite part of the day is, and there’s a good chance they’ll say recess. Recess provides kids with a much-needed chance to get outside, stretch their legs, and let out some energy in the middle of the school day. AAA State of Play made this infographic entitled “25 Ways That Recess Helps Children Be Happy, Healthy, and Successful.” It illustrates 25 benefits of recess, from its effects on health and wellness to relationship-building and long-term success. Each of the 25 points is accompanied by a picture and a source notation. Sources range from nationally-acclaimed research organizations to famous educators and other public figures.
