Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disability, affecting about one in 110 people. About 60 percent of autistic adults in the U.K. require financial assistance, while 39 percent of people don’t realize there’s no cure for autism. The infographic also points out that 27 percent of people think autism only occurs in children. As the graphic states, about 71 percent of children with autism have mental health problems, while 40 percent have two or more. The infographic goes on to explain how 30 percent of people with disabilities like autism live below the poverty line, and how about 63 percent of adults with autism don’t have sufficient financial support.
