The gender pay gap is a significant point of contention in the United States, where the divide between men’s and women’s salaries is sometimes extreme. In fact, on average, women make about 30% less than men, even with the same job title. In the past few years, women in various industries have become more vocal about this injustice, demanding to be paid a fair wage equal to their male counterparts. Business Insider made this infographic called “Female Income As Percent by Male Income by State, 2016.” It consists of a map of the U.S. color-coded to show how much better or worse each state’s pay is for women compared to the national average.
