Music is a universal language beloved by people of all cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds, and ages. But not everyone likes the same type of music, or the same instruments for that matter. In the United States alone, different regions have distinct preferences when it comes to musical styles. GuitarLessons.org coordinated with Dmytro Rudnik to make this infographic called “The Most Popular Instruments Per State.” The graphic features a color-coded map of the U.S. Each instrument is associated with a different color. The graphic also shows the top five instruments in the U.S. as a whole. You may be surprised to find the guitar isn’t quite as popular as you’d think.
