How much of your lifetime has been spent in wartime? Although most people in the U.S. never experience war from the frontlines, it can still have a significant impact. A Washington Post writer created this infographic to illustrate what percentage of U.S. citizens’ lives has been spent with the U.S. at war. The data covers 100 years, from 1914 to 2015. The graph shows the year of birth on one side, which is color-coded in blue. It then shows the percentage of a lifetime spent with the country at war. On the right side, the graph shows the different wars in which the U.S. has been involved, and correlates these with the data on the left side.
