Finally, it compares these two in relation to one another, with this data contributing to the most safe or least safe rating of each state. South Dakoka, New York and North Dakota rank in the top three, while Washington, South Dakota and the District of Columbia rank in the bottom. It also details additional information such as the rate of violent crime nationwide and the demographics in terms of what groups of people are arrested for the majority of crimes nationwide.
