Water is one of earth’s most precious resources. In recent years, amidst widespread drought, the debate about its preservation has reached a boiling point amongst politicians and citizens on both sides of the political spectrum. This infographic, made by Home Advisor, illustrates which states use the most water. It lists each state’s total population, along with the total number of water withdrawals per capita (in thousands of gallons per day). In addition, it displays the water consumption per capita in the most populated counties in each state. Based on the infographic, it is clear to see that for some states where drought is less immediately evident, water consumption remains high.
