What makes us healthy? Is it diet, exercise, quality sleep, genetics, something else, or all of the above? It’s a question that everyone from medical professionals to everyday people ponder on a regular basis. This infographic, created by The Health Foundation in the UK, seeks to answer it. According to the creator’s research, as little as 10% of a population’s health is linked to access to health care. Other factors, such as money and resources, family and community, housing, food, education and skills, transport, and work conditions also have a significant impact. In fact, in part due to the variation in these factors, the life expectancy of the most privileged UK residents is 19 years more than that of those living in abject poverty.
