Brainstorming is a technique used to stimulate the brain and get creativity flowing. Chances are, you’ve used it at some point in your life, perhaps at school or work. Visual Literacy made this infographic called “Imperfect Storm.” The creators contend brainstorming doesn’t really work when it comes to real or creative problem-solving. The graphic first explains what creativity is, then explains why it matters. Next, it discusses how people tend to address creativity with techniques such as brainstorming. It then talks about why brainstorming is not an effective method for stimulating creativity and solving problems. It also provides some alternative solutions that may be more effective.
